Irfan Hashmi

With over 17 years of dedicated service, Mr Irfan Hashmi has been the driving force behind Coober Pedy Pharmacy. A passionate pharmacist and respected community leader, Irfan is committed to improving access to quality healthcare across rural South Australia.

His leadership and dedication have earned him several prestigious honours, including South Australia Pharmacist of the Year, the SA Multicultural Governor’s Award (2022), and recognition as one of South Australia’s Local Heroes in the 2025 Australian of the Year Awards.

Irfan leads the team with compassion, professionalism, and a clear vision — to provide exceptional healthcare to every member of the community.

Sobia Hashmi

Co-owner/ pharmacist

Mrs Sobia Hashmi is a dedicated pharmacist, co-owner of Coober Pedy Pharmacy, and a driving force behind its growth and success over the past 17 years. She has played a key role in expanding services, mentoring staff, and ensuring the pharmacy provides accessible, high-quality healthcare to the local community.

Her outstanding contributions have been recognized with the SA Multicultural Governor’s Award (2022) and as one of South Australia’s Local Heroes (2025). Sobia is also a passionate advocate for women in pharmacy and multicultural engagement, inspiring both staff and the wider community through her leadership and commitment.

Hafsa Aslam

REGISTERED pharmacist / VACCINATION PROVIDER/ FIRST AID PHARMACIST

Hafsa, the pharmacist currently running Coober Pedy Pharmacy, brings both expertise and a personal touch to patient care. She earned her pharmacy degree from the University of Lahore, Pakistan and gained five years of professional experience in Dubai before joining the Coober Pedy community.

She specializes in UTI consultations, vaccinations, oral contraceptive guidance, and a range of other pharmacy services, ensuring safe, effective, and personalized care for every patient. Hafsa’s leadership fosters a welcoming, professional environment where her team works collaboratively to support the health and wellbeing of the community.

Elsie Carboni

Pharmacy technician

Elsie Carboni is the Pharmacy Technician and Retail Manager at Coober Pedy Pharmacy, with over 8 years of dedicated service.

Elsie plays a key role in overseeing daily pharmacy operations, managing retail services, and supporting the team to ensure high-quality patient care.Her approachable manner and attention to detail help maintain an organized and efficient pharmacy environment.

Elsie is highly skilled in dispensing, medication management, customer consultations, and providing guidance on over-the-counter products. Her professionalism, expertise, and commitment to exceptional service make her a vital part of the Coober Pedy Pharmacy team.

Sharlyn Mudduru

Pharmacy Assistant

Sharlyn Mudduru is a key member of the front-of-house team at Coober Pedy Pharmacy, providing friendly and professional support to all customers. She assists with prescription processing, over-the-counter product guidance, and general enquiries, ensuring each visit to the pharmacy is smooth and stress-free.

Sharlyn plays an important role in supporting our range of health services, including on-site blood sugar, cholesterol, ketone, and blood pressure testing, as well as wellness and weight management programs. She helps customers understand the testing process, book appointments, and interpret basic results, ensuring everyone receives clear guidance and support.

Sharlyn is dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere, offering personalized care, and helping our community stay on top of their health.
